Week 5 Waivers

The amount of scoring in Fantasy Football has been off the chain this season.  The amount of scoring on my fantasy football teams has not.  Again, this week we look to the waiver wire as the bye weeks come rollin in.  Here are the top 5 waiver claims for week 5

Mike Davis 3% owned 12% of budget

The Seattle running game has been surprisingly competent over the last couple weeks. Chis Carson was a surprising inactive last week after carrying the ball 32 times for a 102 yards the week before.  Then Mike Davis got the start in his absence and rushed for over a hundred yards on just 21 carries.  Carrol, has said that he expects Carson to return this week leaving this backfield a little muddy, but Seattle is becoming a run game that fantasy owners should want a piece of.  There just aren’t many teams that can rush for 100 yards a week.

Nick Chubb 20% owned 9% of budget

Talk about efficient! 105 yards, 3 carries and 2 TD’s.  Coach said today that he will play more.  Sorry to all of you Carlos Hyde truthers.  This backfield is going to time share status

Nyheim Hynes 17% owned 5% of budget

The Colts are one of those teams that can’t run the football.  In fact, they’ve kind of given up trying.  Nyheim rushed the ball 4 times for 10 yards last week and has 3 yards a carry on the season.  Obviously he’s been getting his production through the air, but as a manager who has owned all of the Colt’s RB’s this season I would be skeptical.

Ty Montgomery 18% owned 8% of budget

If you want pass catching WR with upside Ty Montgomery may be the player for you.  The return of Aaron Jones has been good not great, and the Packers do not appear ready to turn him into a bell cow yet.  Also, Ty Montgomery could find himself in the WR3 talk for the packers.  Randall Cobb looks likely to miss more time and Geronomo probably won’t get 11 targets every week.

Taywan Taylor 3% owned 5% of budget

Pass catchers are dropping like flies in Nashville.  Delanie Walker goes down for the season, Rishard Matthews quits the team, and players like Taywan Taylor become viable.  Last week he caught 7 or 9 passes for 77 yards.  Players like taylor, Callaway, Dede Westbrook. Etc that are getting these week in and week out targets need to be owned.

Ronald Jones 24% owned 5% of budget

It’s not happening for Peyton Barber this week, this season, probably ever.  How is this guy 24% owned when he hasn’t even been active until last week?  He looked more efficient in one game than Barber has all season.  Maybe this offense will become more balanced with Winston under center.  For now he’s worth a speculative add.
